My Birthday, Wicked The Musical, & Obsession 2015!

Hi Guys! It's already been a busy year here at Lusty Lashes HQ!

We had a cyclone in QLD not long ago and the area I am currently living in flooded. We moved house a little while and I also started a brand new job.

So, back in the middle of march (for my Birthday) I decided to take a break and head back to my hometown on the Gold Coast to enjoy some much needed time off, catch up with friends and family and attend some events!

During this time I was very privileged to attend two AMAZING events - Wicked The Musical and the blogger event Obsession 2015.

WICKED!

When the tickets for Wicked's Brisbane tour went on sale in 2014, my best friend and I immediately pounced as we have been waiting to see Wicked together for a long time now!

We were delighted to see that there would be a performance at the QPAC theatre on my birthday(!) so just had to book ourselves in for that night! How lucky am I!?

We drove to Brisbane on the night dressed up for an evening at the theatre.

The man made sure I had money to purchase a program/play bill on the night and I believe I will look back on the memories of the night long into the future!

This was my first ever experience with a live theatre show and I must say it was intense! I was so moved by the amazing story, performances and song lyrics! 

After the show we decided to wait at the stage door with many other excited fans, to meet, thank and congratulate the actors for a truly wonderful performance. 

I felt so privileged to meet Suzie Mather who plays G'linda and Jemma Rix who plays Elphaba and got a quick pic with each of them.

We drove home singing along LOUDLY to our fave songs from the show with our newly purchased soundtrack! Lol It was an amazing night!

OBSESSION 2015 (Beauty Blogger Event)

On Saturday 14/03, I made the drive to Brisbane for a much anticipated event: OBSESSION 2015, held at the Stock Exchange Hotel in the CBD.

This event brought together a wonderful group of beauty bloggers and vloggers from the Brisbane/Gold Coast areas and allowed us to network and to take part in presentations from some amazing brands such as Benefit Cosmetics, LUSH, Elemis, John Plunkett, Dunkle Authentic, BOE Beauty and more.

First up was a fun introduction to a brand new mascara being released by Benefit Cosmetics next month. We were all so excited to learn about the latest and greatest products from this beloved brand and to hear all about the new hook & roll brush (the associated technique we all had fun practicing)! you can read my full review of Benefit Roller Lash Here.

We were then put into little groups to move around the room and meet reps from other brands included in the day and learn about some new and exciting products and offers! In my group I had the lovely Sarah from Bows & Pleats Beauty Blog & the beautiful Kate from KFlowerMaquillage Beauty Blog! Lovely to meet you ladies! 🎀💙

Elemis: 

I was delighted to have the chance to chat to the lovely ladies representing the brand Elemis at Obsession and surprised to find out that their beautiful products are used in a day spa in my home town on the NSW coast!

We were treated to demonstrations of some lovely skin care products and we were lucky enough to receive a bag of samples and freebies to try at home! 

Boe Beauty: 

Next we met with the beautiful Sammy from Boe Beauty and Jordy Cannon from Jordysbeautyspot  for a quick chat about the latest products from BOE Beauty, BOE Professional & Premium Spa Australia!

Dunkle Authentic:

Next we were introduced to the lovely Molky from Dunkle Authentic! We were all swooning over the beautiful packaging of her beautiful lipsticks! Swatches were impressive!

The girls from LUSH were in fine form (as usual) telling us all about the latest and greatest additions to their product range. We were also given the chance to see how the Cupcake fresh face mask is made and get hands on crafting our own!

Fun & Games:

Obsession hosted a fun number of little games that had all the ladies attending giggling and chatting.  I was lucky enough to win a prize from Furless - a new brush set! Thank you so much! 

I so should have had this game of 'what's in your handbag?' in the bag! haha

I feel so privileged to have been invited to this wonderful event, I had such a great day meeting some bloggers that I have followed and admired for a long time! 

The samples and goodie bags we received were amazing and I would like to thank the organisers,  Dani from Kaboom Cosmetics & Kate from The Minted Beauty, for including me!
