Since its release early this year, I have heard many good things about Covergirl's newest mascara, 'Flamed Out'. I consider the application of mascara to be the best part of my makeup routine, and as I hope to make reviewing the latest and greatest mascara's a regular addition to my blog, I had to try this one out for myself!

First Impressions :
Marketing - I was impressed to see P!nk once again acting as the face of Covergirl, promoting the new 'Flamed Out' additions to their collection! The mascara and the items released along side it, including new release 2 in 1 gel eyeshadows (to compliment the 'Flamed Out' lash look) are all about bold and dramatic eyes. This definitely appeals to me!
Price - I was very impressed to pick up this new addition on sale at my local Big W for $10.50, a price that makes it easy to try out the product, even on a budget!
Packaging - Externally, the look of this product is very appealing to me! There is a vibrant pink and red flame pattern across the tube which really suits the theme - I love a good theme!
Brush - Upon removing the mascara wand from the tube I could see that the brush looks like it is well designed to create the 'Flamed Out' or 'Winged' lash look that the brand is going for. I was quickly a little concerned that the brush would gather a lot of excess product, making it hard to control application on the lashes.
I tentatively applied a think coat of the mascara to one eye and instantly I could appreciate the effect. It didnt take much of the product to dramatically change my lashes. Apart from aiding in volume, the combination of the brush and product also seemed to give my eyelashes a bit of a curl, a bonus for days when you don't have the time to use an eye lash curler or want to give your lashes a more subtle curl.
The brush as I suspected did gather a lot of product, making it a little difficult to not over do it.

I have been using this mascara daily and as someone who loves the fuller lash look, this mascara gives me everything I need to make my eyes really stand out. I would recommend Covergirl's NEW Flamed Out mascara to anyone who is seeking a dark coloured, full coverage mascara; to those seeking to create stand out lashes; and to anyone looking to avoid or minimize the time spent on curling their lashes. this is a very multi-use product which I feel could prove effective for both special events and day to day use.
