Since its release early this year, There has been a lot of hype surrounding Rimmel London's latest mascara, co created with the help of legendary fashion and beauty icon Kate Moss!
I consider the application of mascara to be the best part of my makeup routine, and as I hope to make reviewing the latest and greatest mascara's a regular addition to my blog, I was thrilled to be offered the chance to try this exciting new mascara!
Described as "A must have mascara, designed to 'rock' the eyes." with "Broken heart shaped brush for voluminous lift." This mascara offers an "Iconic look at legendary value!"
The first ever Kate 'Idol Eyes' Mascara was released with a collection of gem stone themed eye pencils and coloured mascara that from what I know or have seen we won't be able to get in Australia!
So Sad!
First Impressions:
I was immediately impressed to see the beautiful Kate Moss working with Rimmel London once again! She has produced many products with the brand before including a much coveted line of lip sticks and I knew was excited to see how this mascara would stack up to the rest!
Packaging:
Externally, the look of this product is very appealing. It has a sleek shape and classy chrome finish which suitably represents the iconic status of its namesake: Kate Moss.
Price:
This new mascara has a recommended retail price of $16.95 however upon its initial release here in Australia I noticed a few places, including Big W, had it on sale for only $10 to promote this newest addition to Rimmel's line of Mascara's!
Brush:
This brush is beautifully intense and uber cool. The waved wire brush is shaped in what's known as a "broken heart" shape (nawwww) and helps to create an outstanding curl and definition in your lashes.

Formula / Application : Upon removing the wand from the tube I found the brush gathered quite an easy amount of product to work with.
Without initially curling my lashes as I normally would, I applied a generous swoop of the mascara to one eye and instantly I could appreciate the effect.

I wasn't surprised that it didn't take much of the product to dramatically change my lashes, this mascara is truly blackest black and the large brush simply and quickly helped me to add a subtle curl to my lashes.
The tip or tail of the brush is quite handy for lightly coating the bottom lashes which is always a pleasant surprise.
For me it will be easy to over do it with this mascara having such a large brush that pretty much coats all your lashes at once when applying, but thankfully, I am ok with an over the top lash!

| Dramatic Application |
I would suggest simply applying fewer coats for a more subtle look. The 'broken heart' brush is very versatile considering my initial intimidation by its size!
I also note that this mascara is not waterproof and I found that on the days I used a lot of product for a more 'dramatic' look, I did get some smudging by the end of the day!
I was lucky enough to receive this wonderful new mascara as a PR sample, however as always the above is an honest review based on my experience with the product.
