Lusty Lash Files : Benefit Cosmetics - 'Roller Lash' Mascara

Recently I was so proud to be invited to the Brisbane beauty blogger event - Obsession 2015. Whilst at the event, we were fortunate to be given the opportunity to hear from the staff of Benefit Cosmetics who introduced to us their most recent, innovative and coveted mascara: Roller Lash.

Roller Lash will hit the shelves in early April 2015, but I was thrilled to be given a sample of this product early, as well as some valuable information about how it works.

Benefit boasts that this game changing mascara has a "12 hour, curve-setting formula”, in a “perfect, ink black shade” with “lash conditioning ingredients”. It’s also expected to be super easy to remove.

"Our innovative curling mascara with a patent pending 'Hook & Roll' brush delivers super-curling and lifting performance."

First Impressions:
Having the chance to see the Benefit girls at Obsession present this mascara was a great way to be introduced to the new product. It was a fun way to hear all about the new formula, brush and a cheeky technique to apply it which Benefit call the ‘Hook & Roll’.

Packaging:
The tube is pink and designed to look like a hot roller used to curl your hair which I find cute and fun!

Brush:
The brush head is covered with 42 tiny plastic hooks which work to catch your lashes and curl them, taking inspiration from the way you might use a roller on your hair, only without the heat.

Formula:
The formula is smooth and easily glides onto lashes creating a quickly visible effect. The colour is a rich, inky black and I found that only one coat of the product provided sufficient coverage.

Application:
I was very keen to try out this mascara. I’m always researching the newest ‘game changing’ mascaras and was excited about the new brush head and application technique that accompanies Roller Lash.

With the "Hook & Roll" brush you genuinely don't need to curl your lashes before applying! All the little hooks on the wand quickly and easily apply the perfect black formula. They also work to divide and curl your lashes one by one as you apply the product.

Wear & Removal:
This mascara is not waterproof, which can be off-putting to those in search of a more durable mascara; however as a result it is much easier to remove at the end of the day!

I’ve happily worn Roller Lash almost every day since I received my sample and have found it to be a great day to day mascara that easily becomes a special occasion product with a second or third coat.

I've worn it for up to 8 hours without noticing smudges and maintaining the curl and separation I achieved upon application. I’m very happy to recommend this as a must try product and will definitely be buying it again in the future!

I feel so lucky to have been given the chance to try this mascara thanks to the organisers of Obsession and Benefit Cosmetics! We also received a full size jar of Benefit's 'It's Potent' eye cream and this little miracle has quickly become a fave I am recommending to all my family and friends!

What mascara do you currently use?
Do you think the ‘hook and roll’ technique and brush sound like a system you could get behind?

Thanks for reading lovelies!

*I was lucky enough to receive this wonderful mascara as a sample at the Obsession 2015 Blogger Event, however this review has not been paid for and as always, contains my honest opinions and thoughts about the product.
