Face of the day - Bohemian Contrasts

Hi Guys, welcome to my first Makeup Of The Day / Face Of The Day post on the blog! I have made no secret of the fact that when it comes to the application of makeup, that I am no expert. Never does this apply more than when it comes to the application of eyeshadow however I love makeup, I keep working at it and practicing, I love trying new looks and I'm not afraid to wear bright coloured products for my makeup of the day / face of the day!

With all that being said, I was looking through my eyeshadow palette collection and came across this little mini palette from revlon photo ready range called BOHEMIAN,I have had for some time and never really shown much love and decided to play around with it for my makeup on a day when I was just hanging out at home for the day and heading out for date night with the man later in the evening, thereby giving me time to restart if everything went pear shaped with my makeup!

Such a pretty colour combo!

Products used :

Maybelline Baby Skin.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Vanilla.
Maybelline Fit Me concealer in shade light.
Maybelline Brow Drama in transparent.
Essence Sun Club Matte Bronzer in the Blondes / Light shade.
Essence Blush Up Blush in shade.
MAC Mineralize skin finish in Soft & Gentle.
Revlon colour stay eyeshadow in Boheminan.
Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara.
Australis Velour Lips in Hon-o-loo-loo

For the rest of my makeup I tried to stick to muted and neutral tones so that my eyeshadow could really pop!

Now on to the eyes :

I started with the shimmery orange (number 4 in the palette) shade as a transition colour in my crease and I was careful to apply it minimally and blend it out as best I could before adding the matte brown brown shade (number 3 in the palette) and lining my lower lash line with the same brown colour.

The shimmery blue / gold in the palette is just so pretty so I carefully sprayed my brush with my MAC Fix + spray before picking up a generous amount and packing it all over my mobile lid.

I used the lighter gold shimmery colour (number 1 in the palette) as a highlight for my brow bone and inner corner before adding a smudge of the super molten metal gold (number 5 in the palette)

I did my best to blend, blend, blend and I'm quite happy with how this look turned out! I definitely have a long way to go as far as skill but this was some fun practice!

As a quick side note ; this was my first time trying my newly purchased Too Faced Cosmetics "Born This Way" liquid foundation and I am so impressed with the coverage and colour! Oh my gosh! I hope to post a full review all about this beautiful product soon!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post, I  really enjoyed creating this look and I feel like with more practice I'll get better at this whole blending thing! Lol
