Last weekend I spent the day in Brisbane so that I could attend the Brisbane Pro Makeup and Beauty Show. While in the city, I also jumped at the chance to spend some time with my mum, sister and bestie and of course, was keen to do a little bit of shopping!
I met up with my family first thing and after a delicious breakfast in the city, started shopping at the Myer Centre and Queen Street Mall.
My first stop was TARGET ❤️.
With 25% off clothing and homewares I decided to take some time to pick up some clothing staples and some things that we needed for home. I may post more on that later but for now, lets talk more about the fun beauty items I bought ...
LUSH
There was never a doubt that I would be visiting the ever enchanting LUSH store in the Brisbane CBD. I was desperate to see and sniff all of the recently released, limited edition Mother's Day items that I have been reading about online!
I'd been lusting over the Yummy Mummy shower gel which I whipped up the moment I entered the store.
I then chose a new, stunning soap to try called Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Finally I picked up a new solid perfume Breath Of God, now sold in new, decorative bohemian style tins.
MAC
I booked in an appointment at the MAC counter in David Jones in order to get some help deciding on a new shade for a repurchase of the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish. I've previously purchased and adored this product but felt the shade was ever so slightly off and wanted to make sure I was using the best possible shade.
I had a great morning chatting with the lovely staff and ended up happily picking up the medium shade!
PRICELINE
I popped in to Priceline to grab some staple beauty items and peruse some products which I'd been hoping to try. I bought Maybelline's Eye Makeup Remover as well as the new Maybelline Matte Maker pressed powder.
I'd been wanting to buy the recently released Loreal Micellar Water since it first came out so was happy to see it on sale and quickly added it to my haul!
By mid morning by bestie had arrived in the city and we met for a quick coffee break before making the quick trip to Bowen Hills where the Pro Makeup And Beauty Show was being held.
I had a wish list prepared for Pro M & B and was excited to be able to see all of the items on my list and to buy a select few!
INGLOT
I was so excited to get some gorgeous new Inglot eyeshadows. Last year I treated myself and picked up a 5 pan palette using the Inglot freedom system. At that time I chose neutral shades and staple colours, but this year I decided to try out some brighter, more daring and sparkly shades!
Inglot unfortunately don't name their product shades, they number them. I chose some stunning, popping colours pictured above. From left to right the shades I purchased are AMC Shine Square's #40, #75, #74, #54 & #405.
O.P.I
I was sure OPI would be attending Pro Makeup & Beauty this year after their stall last year was such a success. I was keen to see their vast product range in order to stock up on some of my favourite polishes and to add a few shades to my collection that I have been wanting for a while! At only $10.00 each these beautiful polishes were such a bargain!
I chose the essential shades Russian Navy and Miami Beet as well as Hey Baby from the Gwen Stefani Collection. I also purchased So Many Clowns.. So Little Time, You're Such A Budapest & the Euro Centrale Mini gift pack which was only $5.00!
As a beauty lover who shops on a fairly strict budget there were still plenty of items on my wishlist after my massive day of shopping. However with my budget in mind I focused my purchases around the mantra 'quality over quantity' and am really happy with all of the products I chose.
What do you think of the products I've featured here? Are any of these items 'must-have' products for you?
