Affordable Beauty Favourites Part 1 - Models Prefer Eyeshadow Palettes

Affordable beauty options is something we talk about a lot here at Lusty Lashes Beauty HQ, as a beauty product / makeup product lover and beauty blogger on a budget I love finding little bargains, love a good sale, love finding  amazing dupes for more expensive products, and sharing and talking about these finds on social media and here on the blog.

Today I would love to share some more info about some beautiful eyeshadow palettes from Affordable Beauty brand : Models Prefer.

The brand itself has an entire range of makeup and beauty products ranging from nail polishes to to liquid and powder foundations, I have yet to try much from this brand but the eyeshadow palettes have been a firm favourite and staple in my makeup collection since I first picked some up in early 2014.

The first palettes I picked up were 'Party Glam' a bold, night time look, gem toned palette, 'Nudes' a selection of neutral and mostly gold / taupe toned shadows, and the 'Day to Night' palette my favourite by far with an easy mix of neutral and brights, with lots of shimmer and some staple matte base colours!

I find I reach for the 'Nude' palette more often then not when doing my makeup for a work day because it's simple, I have my fave shades and a subtle look I am well practiced in that I can do quickly before rushing out the door.

However my fave palette from my collection originals has been the 'Day To Night' I love to take this with me when I travel so I have one palette to create a range of different looks no matter what the occasion calls for.

Recently the brand has re released the entire range of palettes with some new editions, I was so excited when I saw these at my local Priceline!

Of the new editions I picked up the 'Matte Nudes' palette this is fast becoming my new fave from the collection. Such beautiful neutral / nude cool to warm tones! *swoon*

I also picked up the second 'Party Glam' palette a great affordable gem toned eyeshadow palette to have for a night out or what ever occasion you want to feel a little more "glam" for and can be a bit more adventurous with colours.

The new 'Party Glam' palette which is quite similar to the first palette by the same name but I am much more impressed with the range of finishes in this new version, there are a few more matte shades rather than just full on shimmer / metallic / glitter! I would recommend this over the first 'Party Glam' edition to the collection.

An eyeshadow brush is included with each of the palettes, on one end there is a small flat bristled brush I find great for lining my lower lash line and on the other end is a fluffy blending brush that works really well when used with minimal product in my opinion.

It has to be said that, Each colour and each pan in all of these palettes mentioned above with a shimmery or metallic finish have quite minimal colour pay off, are heavily shimmery, with A LOT of fall out.

However the matte shades and tones are the opposite, great colour pay off, you can build up coverage and they work great as a base or transition colour for any eye look!

All that being said, for $10 a pop I as makeup newbie and eyeshadow novice still recommend these for a 'cheap thrill' makeup purchase for makeup lovers.

I feel like these would make great "stocking stuffers" also!

I hope to make "Affordable Beauty Favourites" posts a regular on the blog and would love to hear about any of your affordable beauty finds to experience for myself, please feel free to leave some suggestions in the comments below!
