For the love of LUSH |
LUSH - Fresh Handmade Cosmetics |
Recently, I was asked to attend a work conference in my favorite city - Sydney! I was doubly fortunate that this trip was in alignment with my 26th Birthday and even better, my best friend was able to attend with me!
The icing on this birthday cake, I must say, was the freedom to do a little Sydney shopping, and what followed was a shopping frenzy which included a wonderful haul of sorts at Lush Cosmetics at the Queen Victoria Building in the CBD. I was lucky enough to go to LUSH here several times, returning to enjoy the company of the wonderfully helpful and friendly staff and to immerse myself in the gorgeous products that LUSH always has in abundance!
All My LUSH goodies! https://www.lush.com.au |
For those of you who are familiar with LUSH, you will surely understand the amazing sensory experience that accompanies a visit to any store. Each time I visit LUSH it is like very first time! I am always overwhelmed by the heavenly scents that lure me into the shop and constantly surprised to find products which I have never seen or tried, even if they are not new!
During my time in Sydney I came away with the following delightful products:
Freeze! |
To me this purchase is the 'be all and end all' of my mint addiction! It's like bathing in toothpaste, in a good way, I love it!
Made with an intense volume of peppermint but also including orange, bergamot, aloe and sea salt, this wonderfully complex shower gel emits a powerfully minty scent that leaves your skin feeling fresh and cool! This product can be used on both the body and in the hair and I love to use this in my hair about once a week as I find it makes my hair lovely and soft. As a bonus, I get so many people asking me why my hair smells so delicious!
Charity Pot - 95g |
Charity Pot for the Wombat Foundation |
Charity Pot - Hand and Body Lotion - $ 14.95
This is the first time I have purchased a LUSH Charity Pot although I have sampled it previously as my brother in law uses it regularly. After running out of a Dream Cream pot which I was given at Christmas, I was in search of a new hand and body lotion to keep my skin soft and moisturized. Made from a simple recipe of cocoa butter and almond oil, I deliberately picked the Charity Pot as it has quite a plain scent, which I prefer in an all over body lotion.
This delightful lotion helps me keep up my good body care routine and what's even better about this product is that every cent that you pay for it (excluding GST) goes into the Lush Charity Pot Fund, with the proceeds then being distributed to the various organisations that LUSH support. Each pot has a label on it telling you the story of the causes being supported and my little pot told me all about the Wombat Foundation. The charity pot is available in three different sizes, Small - 45g - $8.00, Medium - 95g - $14.95 and Large - 240g - $32.50 and I believe it is an affordable and charitable necessity.
my namesake + fave lush scent & a new one I absolutely adore! |
My obsession with this amazing brand began almost 3 years ago to the day when I was given a lovely pot of Karma Kream as a birthday gift. Since the moment I first took a whiff of the Karma Kream, I have been in love with the Karma range at LUSH which literally has my name written all over it! lol
The Karma scent, aside from being my namesake, is my favorite lush scent as it combining the powerful aromas of patchouli and citrus in a way that makes me feel simultaneously energized and sensual!
This solid perfume is part of the Greatest Hits Perfume collection along with my next purchase:
This is a new scent to my collection and one I absolutely adore. After deciding to buy my Karma solid perfume, I wanted to try out a second scent and as I picked up Imogen Rose, I knew it was for me! This sweet floral perfume also comes with the super sweet story of how the designer came up the fragrance and named it after his new daughter Imogen Rose!
The Godmother Soap |
I have been desperate to find a fragrance similar to the limited edition Snow Fairy shower gel which I used over the Christmas period. I fell deeply in love with the sugary, almost fairy floss scent of the product and deeply into withdrawals when the sale of this product ceased. However, I am happy to say, The Godmother soap is the perfect replacement! Not only does it make my skin feel soft and supple, this soap smells just like the shower gel now gone from my collection! Such a lovely scent and such a relief to know that I can enjoy it all year round!
Scrub for feet! |
Stepping Stone foot scrub $5.95
This green little foot has fast become an essential in my collection. Being on my feet all day means my heels are often dry and sore, not to mention sensitive. It is one of the areas of my body care routine that is very important to me and with the Stepping Stone foot scrub I am able to quickly and frequently add a little love to sometimes neglected feet. The zesty mango fragrance along with an infusion of jojoba oil moisturizes my dry heels and makes my feet lovely and soft!

Samples!
The lovely staff at the QVB lush store were kind enough to give me samples of two products that I have been wanting to try, but was unable to purchase during my visit.
Ro's Argan Body Conditioner
Ro's Argan Body Conditioner
225g Body Conditioner
$32.50 (Free Sample Obtained)
I have been very keen to try the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner for some time now, not only because of the wonderful things I have heard about it but also, because this product carries the same scent as another limited edition Christmas gel, Rose Jam. I was lucky enough to be given a small bottle of the delicious rose scented shower gel at Christmas and have been trying to find something by the brand that is similar. The subtle rose scent of both of these products leaves me feeling fresh and feminine. This body conditioner nourishes the skin with Argan oil, cocoa butter, shea butter and a number of other moisturizing and soothing ingredients. The girls at LUSH were kind enough to give me a sample of this product and since I started using it I have been wishing I had bought the full sized product!
No Drought
100g Dry Shampoo
$13.50 (Free Sample Obtained)
Another awesome little sample I was given by the LUSH staff is this No Drought Dry Shampoo. Dry shampoo is a product that has become rapidly popular worldwide, as it saves us from having to wash our hair every day, increasing the natural oils in our strands and minimizing get ready times!
My little sister is a big advocate of dry shampooing so this sample was primarily for her, however I have given it a try also and found the lovely citrus scent to be uplifting. The powder absorbs grease in the hair and is easy to brush out, avoiding that white powder residue that sometimes seems to always accompany dry shampoo!
I love shopping at LUSH, trying new things always yields positive results for me and it makes me so happy knowing that this brand is so environmentally conscious, actively fights animal testing and uses its popularity to promote good causes worldwide! I respect and admire the way they can do all of this while still creating such amazing scents, products and collections.
