Lusty Lipstick Files : 'MAC Lady Danger' Edition

Hello Beauties!
You may have seen the hashtag I use on Instagram #LustyLipstickFiles - Now welcome to the blog series, where I share brief reviews on some new and fave lipsticks / lip products I love!

For today's edition, a brief review of sorts about a new edition to my MAC lipstick collection :

"MAC Lady Danger"

This striking matte finish and uber popular shade from one of my fave brands for lipsticks MAC Cosmetics has been on my wish list for some time, so as I like to make bigger, special purchases to tie in with fun memories like travel, on my recent trip to Sydney I decided to finally make it mine!

MAC describes Lady Danger as a "Vivid Bright Coral Red'

I had a chat to a lovely makeup artist at the MAC Pro Store who educated me about how to use the right shade of lip liner to bring out the beautiful red tones in this shade and alternatively the orange tones I'm more fond of!

I'm still such a newbie when it comes to makeup and it was so fun to see what she was saying put into action, so of course I was keen to pick up the liner she suggested to go with my new lipstick purchase 'High Energy' but it's always popular and out of stock, but I was lucky enough to pick it up at IMATS over the same weekend!

I have said it before and I will say it again I adore the formula, finish and scent of MAC Lipsticks, even the heavier matte finishes I find not too drying and so smooth to apply!

I'm currently obsessed with all things orange toned so this recent purchase is fitting right in with my current daily makeup picks!

Thanks for reading! I really hope you enjoyed the first of hopefully many editions of #LustyLipstickFiles ! Now that you have heard all about what I think of this lipstick I would love to hear all about your thoughts on 'MAC Lady Danger'  in the comments below!?

Do you own this beautiful lipstick, or is it on your wish list?
Do you find it easy to work with?

Are there any lipsticks in your opinion that I simply must try? Be sure to use the hashtag #LustyLipstickFiles to share ideas with me! :)

#LustyLipstickFiles - MAC Ruby Woo! Edition

Hello Beauties!
You may have seen the hashtag I use on Instagram #LustyLipstickFiles - Now welcome to the first edition on the blog! I hope to post a series of these brief reviews on some new and fave lipsticks / lip products I love!

For today's edition, a brief review of sorts about an all time favorite MAC lipstick :

I don't own many MAC lipsticks as the price tag can be a little bit hefty and my budget doesn't always allow for these otherworldly, coveted, high end products; so when I do splurge I try to make sure it's only on a product I have swooned over for a long time, that I can give lots of love to and that will become a classic in my collection.
MAC Ruby Woo is the epitemy of this for me.

Maybe a litte lip liner is needed here...?

Red is definetly not my favorite colour however if I'm ever struggling to pick a lip or nail colour my go to shade is red!

Every one needs that perfect red lipstick in their collection and for me that is the high end quality, timeless, perfect 'Retro Matte' finish, blue based red from MACCosmetics!

If your looking for a go to red lipstick with an anything but subtle and long lasting colour..... I suggest MAC Ruby Woo!

This particular lipstick can be quite drying on the lips, however I find applying a lip conditioner or balm and allowing it some time to soak in before applying eliminates this problem!

This lipstick requires some care when applying and if your a fan, a good smack of lip liner in a complimentary shade!

I find the colour stays bold throughout a day of gracing my lips but I do need to have it on hand for touch ups after eating / drinking!

I feel super feminine, confident and sexy when ever I wear this lipstick.

MOTD feat. MAC Ruby Woo!

The luxe creamy consistency, heavenly scent and matte finish has me swooning every time I apply it!

I have never been one to be shy or be worried about presenting as "over done" or "over dressed" and enjoy wearing this lipstick to compliment or clash with any outfit or makeup I am wearing on the day or night!

Thanks for reading! I really hope you enjoyed the first of hopefully many editions of #LustyLipstickFiles ! Now that you have heard all about what I think of this lipstick I would love to hear all about your thoughts on MAC Ruby Woo in the comments below!?

Do you own this beautiful matte red lipstick or is it on your wish list?
Do you find it easy to work with?

Looking for a fun bright pop of colour with a wearable matte finish ? Look no further : BOE Proffesional - Velvet Soft Colour - Premier - Matte Finish.

This charming lip colour from much beloved brand BOE BEAUTY / BOE professional certainly lives up to its promises of a velvet soft matte finish, non drying and high pigment for the low price of only $8.95

This little beauty has quickly become a fave in my collection and I wear it quite often, it has also been my inspiration to add more beautiful shades from the BoeProfessional range!

Thanks so much for reading! I would love to hear some suggestions of your fave shades from BoeProfessional so I can add to my collection!

Boe Beauty - Matte Lip Cream #AffordableBeauty

As a beauty lover on a pretty strict budget I have a few brands that I depend on to pick up affordable products that are inline with current trends happening in the "High End" spectrum I can't often get my hands on, one of these brands is BoeBeauty, available exclusively at Big W.

I am a big fan of the matte lip phenomenon currently trending in the beauty world and I was hoping that these products from much beloved brand #BoeBeauty would help with my cravings for some matte finish lip products! I am not sure how new these matte lip creams are but I have only just spotted them!

These little cuties are only $2 each and Boe Beauty has once again come to the table with 4 simple shades to make this trend affordable whatever colour I am craving! From a bright powerful red to a every day nude!

Unfortunately they do not dry or set true matte as the name may suggest and a more of a semi matte / gloss lip product from my experience with them and in my opinion!

Pillar Box Red - I found to be quite sheer upon first application.

Upon initial application all the shades are quite sheer and do set more matte when worn this way however I found I needed a second coat to get a good pop of colour and this made more of a glossy finish!

Top left - Bottom Right lip swatches :

#34 Pillarbox Red - A Bright vampy red.
#33 Shock Pink - A Bright purple fuchsia with a slightly metallic finish.
#32 Blush Pink - A Candy pink shade.
#31 Nude - Brown based / Tan nude.

Despite all of this I adore these lip creams and I find they wear quite well through out the day and add a stain of colour to the lips!

Swatches from top to bottom : #31Nude, #32BlushPink, #33ShockPink, #34PillarBoxRed.

Wearing Boe Beauty #31 Nude Matte Lip Cream.

My fave of the bunch is definetly the nude shade its a colour I am favoring day to day and have easily worked it into my makeup routine.

My least fave has got to be the shock pink shade! (Pictured above) Although highly pigmented and quite a pretty colour I found that it moved around a lot once applied, didn't wear as well as the others and realistically had a much more metallic and  glossy finish than I was expecting from a matte lip cream!

I can say that they are still fantastic quality for the price point and there are four highly pigmented shades available to choose from!

Thank you so much for reading, I would love to hear your thoughts on these charming lip colour's and on this post in the comments below and let me know if you have had similar experiences with them!
